Brandon Allen, the Arkansas Razorbacks' starting quarterback, left Saturday's game against Southern Miss in the first quarter with a shoulder injury. He appeared to hurt himself while diving in for a touchdown that gave UA an early 7-0 lead.

Allen headed to the locker room for x-rays after awkwardly landing on his shoulder.
It was pretty clear that Allen was feeling pain in his shoulder while heading back to the locker room, and after being examined further, the sophomore quarterback returned to the sidelines without his pads on. He is almost certainly done for the day.

The University of Arkansas has not announced anything further in regards to Allen’s injury. It is unclear if he will be able to play next weekend against Rutgers with SEC play right around the corner.
Allen was the only Razorback quarterback to take any snaps this season. His replacement, AJ Derby, is already having some issues.
The Razorbacks have been unable to move the ball since Derby entered the game, and it seems coach Brett Bielema will be hesitant to let the unproven junior throw the ball down the field unless it’s absolutely necessary.
