After a pair of lackluster performances, the USC Trojans rebounded on Saturday with an easy 35-7 home win over the Boston College Eagles at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

USC rebounded from an embarrassing home loss with an easy win over Boston College.

Sophomore quarterback Cody Kessler had his best game to date for the Trojans, completing 15 of 17 passes for 237 yards and two touchdowns. USC (2-1) didn't have a pass play longer than 19 yards in its first two games, but Kessler completed four passes for at least 20 yards on Saturday.
The biggest play was an 80-yard touchdown pass to All-American wide receiver Marqise Lee with 9:31 remaining in the second quarter for a 14-0 lead. Lee caught two passes for 90 yards on the day.
The Trojans built a 28-0 lead with touchdowns in each quarter before the Eagles responded with their only score of the day, a 29-yard run by Tyler Rouse.
USC improved to 4-0 all-time against Boston College.
Box Score Hero: Trojans tailback Tre Madden ran for 102 yards on 16 carries, including a 30-yard touchdown run. Madden also caught three passes for 32 yards, including another touchdown. He has taken advantage of his opportunity with 370 rushing yards in three games -- the first USC running back to rush for 100 yards in the first three games of the season since Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Allen did so in 1981.
Rankings Ramifications: USC received all of five points in last week’s USA Today Coaches Poll, good for 39th place, but it doesn’t figure to reach the Top 25 anytime soon, even with Saturday’s win.
But Did They Cover? The Trojans were a 14½-point favorite over the Eagles and covered for the first time this season.
