Braxton Miller out for Ohio State’s game against California

Speculation on Miller’s status for Saturday night began last week, when he left Ohio State’s win over San Diego State and was carted to the locker room. Miller was later diagnosed with an MCL sprain and did not return. Those rumors only grew when Miller took the field for warmups in a t-shirt and shorts. Head coach Urban Meyer confirmed his status soon after.

Miller had been 17-24 for 208 yards, two touchdowns and an interception so far this season. He has also run 18 times for 82 yards. Backup Kenny Guiton, who filled in for Miller after his injury last week and will presumably start under center tonight, is 20-29 on the season for 173 yards and three scores. Like Miller, Guiton is a dual-threat quarterback. He has 89 rushing yards on 10 carries, including a 44-yard touchdown.
