After two straight wins in the series for Iowa State, Iowa has reclaimed the Cy-Hawk Trophy, as the Hawkeyes defeated the rival Cyclones 27-21 on the road in Ames. It was Iowa’s first win in the series since 2010.

Iowa won in Ames Saturday night, bringing the Cy-Hawk trophy back to Iowa City.
It was a sloppy game all around, as both teams frankly do not look very good this season. Neither team broke four yards per rush or eight yards per pass attempt, but the Hawkeyes managed to come out with the win.
The Hawkeyes got on the board first, as Jake Rudock threw a five-yard touchdown pass to Kevonte Martin-Manley for the 7-0 lead. Two Mike Meyer field goals later, and Iowa took a 13-0 lead into the half.
Iowa State appeared to get back in it in the middle of the third, as Sam Richardson found Quenton Bundrage down the sideline, who ran 67 yards for the score. Iowa responded a few minutes later with another Rudock touchdown pass, and put the game seemingly out of reach with a one-yard Rudock rushing score.
The Cyclones started their comeback effort with a 26-yard touchdown pass from Richardson to Bundrage, and converted on the ensuing onside kick attempt. On Iowa State’s next drive, however, the Hawkeyes made a fantastic interception.
Iowa State got the ball back, and Richardson connected with Bundrage for touchdown number three -- this one a 17-yarder to make it 27-21. Iowa went three-and-out on their next drive, giving the Cyclones one last shot, but they ended up falling short.
