Since Sports Illustrated first began publishing its multi-part investigative report into the Oklahoma State football program, co-author Thayer Evans has come under increasing scrutiny. Former Oklahoma State player Aso Pogi said his remarks were taken out of context by Evans, and Rodrick Johnson said Evans "wrote lies." Others have offered their objections well.
Oklahoma State fans have some fun with Thayer Evans on Saturday
Some fun was had, but also there was some unpleasantness.

All of it led to Internet speculation that Evans had been fired by SI last week, though that was not true. On Saturday, some Oklahoma State fans decided to have some fun at Evans’s expense in a predictable response to a long and controversial week for the program. Cowboys students made some fake $100 bills with Evans’ face on them:

While that’s a harmless joke, there were other, less-than-appropriate gestures, like this Thayer Evans effigy, which was a really bad idea on somebody’s part. There are probably a few thousand ways to better cope with the situation than this.
