College football news: Jerry Kill resting after suffering seizure; Jadeveon Clowney needs foot surgery
As conference play nears for most teams around the country, there were no shortage of headlines over the weekend.

Minnesota coach Jerry Kill resting comfortably after suffering seizure
Coach Kill suffered a seizure prior to halftime of Minnesota’s game on Saturday, his fourth in 22 games with the Gophers. He was taken to a local hospital for evaluations, though he has since been released and is now resting comfortably at home. Coach Kill has refused to let his seizures keep him away from the game he loves and has actively worked within the community to aid those who also suffer from epilepsy.
Jadeveon Clowney needs foot surgery, but he'll still play
Clowney has been slowed down at times early this season, and on Saturday, it was revealed that he will need foot surgery in the offseason. Fortunately for the Gamecocks, the star defensive end will continue to play as long as he can tolerate the pain. Clowney also said he has been dealing with foot issues since his high school days and we can only hope it doesn’t hold him back once he reaches the next level given his natural talent and athleticism.
College GameDay is heading to ... Fargo!
College GameDay is heading off the beaten path next weekend to visit the South Dakota State Bison, the top-ranked school in the FCS, as they take on Delaware State. This marks GameDay’s first non-FBS-school appearance since 2008. The slate isn’t too deep next weekend, and what better place to go than see a couple thousand crazy South Dakotans?
Fallout from controversial Arizona State/Wisconsin ending begins
With the kickoff from Tempe not coming until 10:30 p.m. ET, there’s a good chance you missed the madness that took place on the final play of Arizona State’s showdown with Wisconsin.
With the Badgers feeling cheated out of a hard-earned road win, the Big Ten said the Pac-12 referees botched the final play in which the clock incorrectly ran to zero. Former NFL officiating executive Mike Pereira also said Wisconsin should’ve had another play. The Pac-12 Conference, which is becoming notorious for employing officials who drastically alter the outcomes of games, is expected to make a statement on Monday.
Top teams hold in polls, UCLA rises
With their big win over Texas A&M, Alabama remained atop both the AP and USA Today Coaches Polls. Oregon held steady in second after dismantling Tennessee, while Ohio State, Clemson and Stanford make up the rest of the top five.
The big mover was UCLA. With their big comeback road win over Nebraska, the Bruins are up to No. 13 in the AP Poll and No. 15 in the Coaches Poll.
