    Wednesday afternoon, Nebraska chancellor Harvey Perlman and athletic director Shawn Eichorst released a statement on football coach Bo Pelini’s two-year-old, profanity-filled rant about Husker fans and local media, which was unearthed this week. Perlman expresses disapproval, but makes it clear the issue will not linger.

    Pelini addresses profane tape

    Bo Pelini addressed Tuesday the audio recording of the profane comments he made about Nebraska fans and local media members back in 2011, and for the most part, he handled the situation well. He took responsibility for what he said that day, drawing praise for doing his best to explain the circumstances surrounding those comments.

    He also sounded a bit disgruntled about being in Lincoln on the recording, and while he said Tuesday he “never pursued jobs” at other schools, that might not be true. Both Ted Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune and Bruce Feldman of CBS Sports say that Pelini attempted to move on.

    I’m not taking a side on Bo Pelini-Tommie Frazier. Well, not unless “settle down” constitutes a side.

    You’ll likely recall that Frazier tweeted out some considerably negative thoughts in the aftermath of Nebraska’s collapse against UCLA, including a recommendation that the entire defensive coaching staff be fired. Such is Frazier’s right, privilege and job. He’s not only a beloved Husker legend but a sports radio personality in Omaha, Nebraska.
