Auburn down 2 defensive starters vs. LSU

The Tigers will be without a starting cornerback and a defensive end against LSU, which will make an already difficult game even harder.

The Auburn Tigers already faced a tough task going into Death Valley to face LSU on Saturday, but things will be even tougher with cornerback Chris Davis and defensive end Craig Sanders not making the trip to Baton Rouge, according to Auburn Sports' Justin Hokanson.

Davis is arguably Auburn’s best defender, and he’ll miss his second straight game with a foot injury. The Tigers were able to get past Mississippi State last week without him, but they could have really used Davis to help cover LSU’s dynamic receiving combo of Odell Beckham and Jarvis Landry. The two have combined to score nine touchdowns already this season, and should be a handful again against Auburn.

Sanders will miss the game with an ankle injury, and his production off the edge would have been quite useful for the Tigers. He’s started all three games this season, and has six tackles and 2.5 tackles for a loss in that span. The good news for Auburn is original starter Dee Ford, who’s been out with injury, is back now.
