South Carolina Gamecocks starting cornerback Victor Hampton is suspended for the first half of Saturday's SEC showdown with Georgia for a violation of unspecified team rules.
South Carolina’s Victor Hampton suspended for first half vs. Georgia
The Gamecocks will be shorthanded against Aaron Murray and the Bulldogs to start things off.

The junior played in all 13 games for the Gamecocks last season, racking up 38 tackles and a sack. He started against North Carolina in last week’s season opener, playing well against the Tar Heels’ spread attack.
Up against Aaron Murray and the Dawgs' wide assortment of offensive weapons, Hampton's absence in the first half could prove to be costly for USC on Saturday.
In addition to the suspension, starting center Cody Waldrop is not expected to play due to a foot injury. Waldrop was seen in a walking boot prior to kickoff and did not have his pads on after going out for warmups earlier in the day. The Gamecocks have depth along the offensive line, but quarterback Connor Shaw will have to make sure he's on the same page with whoever handles the snapping duties to avoid costly turnovers.
