UCLA defensive lineman Eddie Vanderdoes will not be suspended by the Pac-12 for punching an Oregon player during Saturday’s loss, head coach Jim Mora said Tuesday.
Pac-12 won’t suspend UCLA player for this punch vs. Oregon
Eddie Vanderdoes will not miss the Bruins’ game against Cal.

Vanderdoes threw a punch in a pile during the first quarter of the 42-30 loss for the Bruins.
The 6’3, 305-pound sophomore ranks second on the team with four tackles for a loss, and is a key part of UCLA’s struggling defense. He has also recorded 23 tackles, one sack and one fumble forced, as well as carried the ball three times for five yards and a touchdown.
Mora has already said no punishment for Vanderdoes is in store from the team.
Mora will not punish Vanderdoes. And if he changes his mind, the punishment will be kept in-house and won’t be made public.
“The official came over and told me he saw him throw a punch,” Mora said. “I talked to Eddie immediately. We address those things immediately. It’s not something we condone.”
He simply shrugged the rest of it off by saying, “it happens.”
The Bruins travel to play Cal this weekend. The game will kick-off at 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday.
