One of 2013’s most shocking upsets came in late November, when unranked Arizona took then-No. 5 Oregon out of the national title picture with a resounding 42-16 defeat. It was easy to take too much away from that game -- the Ducks aren’t the same under Mark Helfrich as they were under Chip Kelly, this is the beginning of the end, etc. etc. -- but Oregon is 6-0 since that point, winning games by an average margin of 43.3-21.2.
College football TV schedule and streaming: 4 games Thursday, Oct. 2
That’s not to say Oregon is exactly its old self. The Ducks are just two weeks removed from a scary 38-31 near-upset in Pullman against Washington State, and they’re faced with a tough, undefeated Arizona team that made them look silly last season. The Wildcats are 4-0 this season, but have won their last three games by just one score, including a dramatic Hail Mary victory over Cal their last time out.
That game kicks off late, but it’s not the only one on the Thursday slate. UCF travels to Houston, as the Knights hope to win their first game against FBS competition in the post-Bortles era. Florida Atlantic travels to Florida International for a more local version of conference play, affectionately called the “Shula Bowl.”
