Steve Spurrier laughs off rumors of Florida return

The head coach has other plans in mind when his South Carolina days are over.

Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

Florida head coach Will Muschamp’s job security is at all-time low after a humiliating and historic loss to Missouri. He’s still technically employed in the position, but that hasn’t stopped speculation as to who will take the high-profile job next.

One name (mostly jokingly) brought up is current South Carolina head coach Steve Spurrier, the all-time winningest head coach for both the Gamecocks and the Gators. Spurrier left Florida after the 2001 season for a job with Washington’s NFL franchise, returning to the SEC just four years later with one of his old school’s divisional rivals.

Tuesday, reporters asked Spurrier about the potential of this WILD INTERNET RUMOR being true. Spurrier responded the only way he could: with a guffaw and a golf joke.

Keep being you, HBC.
