Mississippi State at Kentucky betting odds guide and prediction

Mississippi State faces a road test this Saturday at Kentucky.

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

The Mississippi State Bulldogs are 9-0 SU and 8-1 ATS over their last nine games dating back to last season. The Bulldogs will try to keep on rolling in a road test this Saturday afternoon against the Kentucky Wildcats. Mississippi State at Kentucky kicks off at 3:30 p.m. ET at Commonwealth Stadium.

Mississippi State is a 13.5-point road favorite at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. The Bulldogs have no reason to overlook this game, and should bring their best effort and cover the spread in Kentucky.

It has been nothing short of a dream season so far for the Bulldogs. They have climbed to No. 1 in the AP Top 25 with three straight wins against top-10 opponents, and the wins over Texas A&M and Auburn were each by 15 points or more. With a 10-1 SU and 8-3 ATS record in its last 11 games as a road favorite, Mississippi State can clearly play well away from home as well. Dak Prescott is going off at 2/1 to win the Heisman Trophy at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: Mississippi State 46.2, Kentucky 26.5

The Wildcats have enjoyed a solid season so far with a 5-2 SU and ATS record through their first seven games after winning only two games in both 2012 and 2013. But last Saturday’s 41-3 loss to LSU served as a humbling reminder that the ‘Cats haven’t played too many quality opponents this season. Kentucky is just 1-6 ATS in its last seven games as a home underdog and 2-8 ATS in its last 10 home games against SEC opponents.

In this head-to-head series, Mississippi State has held the clear edge in recent years with a 6-1 SU and ATS record in its last seven games against the Wildcats. The total has gone UNDER in seven of the last 10 meetings between these two teams and in each of Mississippi State’s last four games as a home favorite. The Bulldogs are playing at such a high level and with such consistency that it is hard to see them slipping up this week, making them a solid play on Saturday as a 13.5-point road favorite.
