Texas A&M will not be playing Oregon in a home-and-home series that you forgot was scheduled for 2018 and 2019, according to Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman. The two were scheduled to play in Eugene in 2018 and College Station in 2019, but Feldman said the contract allowed A&M to back out of the series if it switched conferences (which it did, from the Big 12 to the SEC).

This really shouldn’t be a surprise, because as many have pointed out, games like these that are scheduled 10 years in advance are really just suggestions, not set-in-stone matchups. Still, it would have been pretty cool to see a team of five-stars take on the machine that is Oregon. But alas.
At least one good thing to come from this could be more Steve Spurrier jokes directed toward the Aggies. He has already suggested they schedule soft.
Spurrier on high point totals in the SEC: "Oh, you gotta realize most of these teams play somebody like Lamar."
