Todd Gurley, Dak Prescott top updated 2014 Heisman Trophy odds

Nick Marshall, Marcus Mariota and Everett Golson fill out the top five.

Mike Zarrilli

College football’s wild week 7 didn’t just lead to a shake-up in the Top 25 polls -- losses from big teams and disappointing performances from some of the nation’s biggest stars has led to some big changes in the Heisman race as well.

Georgia running back Todd Gurley is the new favorite to win the award after another dominating performance, via Bovada. Gurley ran for 163 yards with two touchdowns against Vanderbilt, also completing a 50-yard pass (the Bulldogs’ longest pass completion of the season). Right behind him is Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott, fresh off a dominating win for the Bulldogs against Texas A&M (whose own quarterback, Kenny Hill, fell pretty heavily in the odds as a result).

Auburn quarterback Nick Marshall slots in at third after his team’s annihilation of LSU, while former favorite Marcus Mariota falls to fourth place after Oregon’s Thursday night defeat at the hands of Oregon. Sneaking on up is Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson, who saved an otherwise poor performance against Stanford with a game-winning fourth-and-11 touchdown throw.

Other big fallers include UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley and Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight, who both saw their undefeated seasons end in upset fashion.
