Florida State just can’t lose. That’s not necessarily a compliment, as the Seminoles haven’t looked anything like the No. 1 team in the country this year, but thanks to playing a string of pretty good-not-great teams, FSU hasn’t suffered any blunders as of yet. Last week against Miami was yet another scare, but the Seminoles pulled it out in the end.

Can the Eagles finally be the team to pull the upset on FSU?
This week, FSU faces another “good-not-great” team in Boston College that could certainly give them a scare, but probably won’t be able to pull out the win. The Eagles have been a bit of a surprise this year, en route to a 6-4 record, and they gave FSU a scare last year before falling against a much better Seminoles team.
So expect a game this weekend, just like we’ve come to expect from Florida State all year. But also expect an FSU win, because why would you expect anything else?

Two things at stake
Florida State needs to win this game to make the College Football Playoff.
A win for Boston College would be a big boost for the program and the Eagles’ season.
One big matchup
Boston College defense vs. Florida State offense: When you play Florida State, the story is the same: You have to find a way to stop Jameis Winston and the offense. The Florida State defense has been susceptible at times (though it has also looked very good in spots), and Boston College could have some success on that side of the ball. However, the Eagles have to be able to stop Winston. While they have an average defense, they're going to need to turn in their best performance of the season to come out with a win.
