How to watch Charleston Southern vs. Georgia: Game guide, TV schedule, streaming, odds

This is certainly a football game!

The SEC’s annual jaunt through the FCS in November is here, angering fans of schools from other power conferences with short memories. Saturday afternoon, the No. 10 Georgia Bulldogs host the Charleston Southern Buccaneers.

An early-season blowout win over Clemson appeared to announce the Bulldogs as a national contender this season, but losses to South Carolina and Florida (both fringe bowl teams) seemed to bring any hopes crashing down. That was until last week, when Georgia played then-No. 9 Auburn off the field in a 34-7 blowout victory. The Bulldogs will win the SEC East if Missouri loses to Tennessee or Arkansas, but for now they’ll just have to wait and see with two non-conference games remaining on the schedule.

Charleston Southern has already faced an SEC opponent this season. In October, they nearly pulled off an upset of Vanderbilt after a 5-0 start to the year, eventually falling 21-20 and losing their next two games. The Buccaneers have since won three in a row, including a road win against a good Liberty squad, and are one of the better teams in the Big South.

How to watch, listen, and stream

Game time: 12 p.m. ET.

TV: SEC Network.

Radio: Here’s a list of affiliates for Georgia.

Online streaming: WatchESPN.

The numbers

Rankings and records: Georgia is No. 10 in the playoff rankings, No. 9 in the AP Poll and No. 10 in the Coaches Poll. Charleston Southern is the top team in the “others receiving votes” category of the FCS Coaches Poll. The Bulldogs are 8-2, while the Buccaneers are 8-3.

Vegas: There is no line available for this game, and you should feel bad for looking for one.

Weather forecast: High of 56 and partly cloudy.

Two things at stake

Georgia has a tough final matchup against Georgia Tech after this game, so they’ll be focusing on staying healthy.

A win for Charleston Southern would be one of the biggest FCS/FBS upsets in history.

One big matchup

Nick Chubb vs. Charleston Southern defense. The Bulldogs’ young back is starting to come into his own, eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark last week with his fifth straight 100-yard game. He’s a big, powerful running back, and the FCS Buccaneers may have a hard time dealing with him out of the backfield.
