How to watch Kansas vs. Oklahoma: Game guide, TV/streaming, odds

Can Kansas continue its solid play?

Is Kansas becoming not terrible at football? Obviously, calling the Jayhawks “good” would be a huge stretch, but something funny has happened in Lawrence ever since KU fired Charlie Weis — and more specifically, over the past two games.

Two weeks ago, the Jayhawks beat 2-7 Iowa State, and the fans tore down the goalposts. That irked some people, but tearing down goalposts is fun and Kansas fans don’t get to have a lot of fun. But the next week, even in a loss, the Jayhawks had an even more impressive performance, taking No. 4 TCU down to the wire in a 34-30 loss. Now, they get the chance to keep the momentum going against Oklahoma.

The Sooners have been a disappointment this year, sitting at 7-3 after initially being picked to win the Big 12 and being seen by many as a contender to make the College Football Playoff. Now, they’re out of contention, and a loss to Kansas would make some angry fans even angrier at coach Bob Stoops.

How to watch, listen, and stream

Game time: 1:30 p.m. ET, at earliest (Was noon ET, but the Big 12 has announced a lightning delay.)

TV: Fox Sports 1

Radio: Jayhawk Radio Network, Sooner Sports Radio Network

Online streaming: Fox Sports Go

The numbers

Rankings and records: Oklahoma is 7-3 and ranked 21st by the College Football Playoff selection committee. Kansas is 3-7 and unranked.

Vegas: Oklahoma is a 25-point favorite with an over/under of 53, per OddsShark.

Weather forecast: High of 62 and low of 54 with a chance of thunderstorms. Here’s what it actually looks like, via the NWS:

Two things at stake

Bob Stoops might not want to walk around Norman much if Oklahoma loses.

It won’t mean much in the standings, but a win over Oklahoma would be huge for this Kansas program.

One big matchup

Oklahoma offense vs. Kansas defense: While Oklahoma has had some defensive struggles this season, its offense was very good until it lost Trevor Knight. Now, things could be spiraling for the Sooners, as Cody Thomas gets another look. Even without Knight, the Sooners are clearly good enough to beat Kansas, but if Thomas struggles again and throws some interceptions to give the Jayhawks good field position, then this one could turn into an upset, especially if the OU defense doesn’t hold.
