The Big 12 title race is going to come down to the wire and the TCU Horned Frogs are currently tied for first place. The Texas Longhorns are lurking in the middle of the pack, however, and will be looking to trip up the Frogs Thursday night in Austin.
How to watch TCU vs. Texas: Game guide, TV schedule, and streaming online
Can TCU crash the College Football Playoff party? A game with Texas stands in the way this week.
TCU has had an extremely successful season so far, only losing to Baylor in a wild shootout back in October. The 9-1 Horned Frogs are ranked in the top five of the College Football Playoff committee’s rankings and have legitimate national title hopes.
The Longhorns have struggled to a 6-5 record this year, but come into their Thanksgiving-night duel riding a three-game winning streak. Texas has lost to all of the ranked teams they’ve faced so far this season, but will be looking to shock TCU in their final home game of the season.

The numbers
Rankings and records: TCU is ranked No. 5 in the Playoff rankings and No. 6 in the AP Poll. Texas is unranked. The Horned Frogs are 9-1 overall and 6-1 in the Big 12. The Longhorns are 6-5 overall and 5-3 in conference.
Vegas: TCU opened up as 7.5-point favorite over Texas. The line has moved to 6.5 points with an over/under of 55.5, per Odds Shark.
Weather forecast: Austin will be bathed in sunshine on Thanksgiving with a high of 69 degrees. There is a zero-percent chance of precipitation.
Two things at stake
TCU needs to win if they want to stay on track to make the first-ever College Football Playoff.
Texas could ruin their in-state rivals’ season with a win.
One big matchup
Trevone Boykin vs. Texas defense: Boykin is the focal point of the Frogs' offense and will be the main focus for Texas on defense Thursday night. Boykin has thrown for over 3,000 yards and rushed for 548 yards in 10 games. He has 31 total touchdowns to boot. In TCU's one loss, and two closest wins, Boykin completed less than 55 percent of his passes. If Texas wants a chance for the upset, they need to limit Boykin's easy completions.
