Oregon at Utah betting odds guide and prediction

Oregon must win at Utah this week to keep playoff hopes alive.

Steve Dykes

The Utah Utes are 6-2 SU and 7-1 ATS so far this season. Utah will be looking for another upset win this Saturday hosting the Oregon Ducks. Oregon visits the Utah Utes at Rice-Eccles Stadium at 10:00 pm ET (ESPN) on Saturday night.

Utah is a 10-point home underdog this Saturday night at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. While the Utes have shown plenty of fight this season and could keep this one close, Oregon is playing too well to pass up on at only -10.

A 19-16 loss to Arizona State last week likely brought an end to Utah’s shot at the top spot in the Pac-12 South, but it doesn’t tarnish what has been an excellent season for the Utes. Playing in the high-octane Pac-12, Utah’s defense has allowed only 21.3 points a game to rank 27th in the nation. Utah’s great play on defense has led to each of the Utes’ last six games playing UNDER the total. Utah is 4-0 ATS as an underdog this season with three outright upsets.

OddsShark Computer Prediction: Oregon 40.9, Utah 28.4

Injuries to Oregon’s offensive line early in the season led to a 4-1 SU and 1-4 ATS start for the Ducks that included a close call against Washington State and a surprising outright loss to Arizona. But over its last four games, Oregon is a perfect 4-0 SU and ATS averaging 47.8 points per game while allowing only 26.8 points per game. All four teams topped by double-digits by Oregon over that stretch have a winning record this season. The Ducks are 13-2 SU and 12-3 ATS in their last 15 games as a road favorite.

The UNDER is 5-0 in Oregon’s last five games as a road favorite and 4-0 in Utah’s last four games as a home underdog. It is certainly possible that Utah’s stingy defense gives Oregon trouble and keeps this game close. But considering the quality of some of the defenses that Oregon has dismantled this season including Michigan State and Stanford, the Ducks when healthy are too strong of a force to pick against.
