How to watch Army vs. Navy: Game guide, TV schedule, streaming, odds

The Midshipmen already know their bowl destination, but don’t expect motivation to be an issue against the Black Knights.

The regular season may be over for just about every school, but the annual Army-Navy game still remains. The two longtime rivals square off Saturday at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, with Navy’s 12-game rivalry winning streak on the line.

The Midshipmen started the season 2-4, with each of their first six games coming against bowl-eligible opposition. They’ve won four of their last five games to secure a bowl invite, including a blowout win against Sun Belt champs Georgia Southern and a close victory against South Alabama. Navy still runs the ball a ton, and quarterback Keenan Reynolds has 25 total touchdowns on the season.

Army head coach Jeff Monken, who moved over from Georgia Southern, can probably count his debut season with the Black Knights as a mild success. Army’s four wins is its highest total since 2010, when the Black Knights last snagged a bowl berth, and they have an opportunity for their second-best record since 1997. Like the other service academies, the Black Knights run nearly all the time, averaging more than 300 yards per game on the ground.

The numbers

Rankings and records: Neither team is ranked. Navy is 6-5, while Army is 4-7. The Midshipmen hold a 58-49-7 lead in the all-time series between the two schools.

Vegas: Navy opened as 15-point favorites. The over/under is 58 points.

Weather forecast: 45 degrees and partly cloudy.

Two things at stake

A win for Navy would guarantee a winning season regardless of its bowl result.

Army is looking to break Navy’s 12-game winning streak in the series.

One big matchup

Navy rushing offense vs. Army rushing defense. Both teams almost exclusively run the ball, but Navy’s rushing offense is better and Army’s rushing defense is worse. The Midshipmen are averaging 6.4 yards per carry this season, while the Black Knights are giving up 5.5 yards per rush. Army has allowed over 300 yards rushing twice this season (Yale, Western Kentucky), but it fared pretty well against Air Force’s option attack. The Black Knights yielded 242 yards on the ground in the loss, but held the Falcons to 3.9 yards per carry.
