The New York Post wants the Jets to hire Nick Saban

The Alabama head coach went 1-3 against the Jets during his time with the Dolphins.

After the recent firing of Rex Ryan, the New York Jets’ head coaching position remains vacant. Who can right the ship for one the two struggling teams in the nation’s biggest media market? The New York Post has an idea.

While NFL head coaches for the most part have many reasons not to go back to college, the reverse is true of Saban. He’s the highest-paid coach in the country, already making as much as NFL jobs can offer, has built a dynasty at Alabama that has shown no signs of stopping (with a fifth-straight No. 1 recruiting class scheduled to come in) and deals with a very friendly media in Tuscaloosa -- not something he could count on with New York, despite the Post’s current niceties towards him.

But hey, Saban was in New York just a few weeks ago for the Heisman ceremony. Could he have been negotiating with the Jets??? No, he has no interest in "any NFL situation."

Nick Saban will be at Alabama long after most of us have left this world, New York Post. But it’s nice to dream.
