Johnny Manziel wins ‘Johnny Football’ trademark ruling

Johnny Manziel is closing in on possessing the trademark for “Johnny Football.”

Johnny Manziel is attempting to win the trademark for "Johnny Football," and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office made a key ruling in his favor on Thursday, per ESPN. The government agency sent a letter to Kenneth R.Reynolds Family Investments, which originally filed for the trademark three months before Manziel's organization, rejecting its claim. Reynolds Family Investments still has the opportunity to appeal.

Manziel’s group is called JMAN Enterprises, because of course it is. Yes, JMAN is obviously derived from Johnny MANziel, but for a showstopping player who is known almost as much for his off-field lifestyle as his on-field accomplishments, it’s just too perfect. It’s not difficult to imagine the quarterback walking up to a nice, young woman in a popular nightclub and handing her a diamond-encrusted business card that simply reads “JMAN Enterprises.” On the back, it just says “Mr. Football, CEO.”

Manziel is one of the most dynamic players in college football history, and he's about to be one of the top picks in the NFL Draft. And now, it looks like he's going to make money on any merchandise that features "Johnny Football." This man is doing it right.
