2014 ACC media days guide: Schedule, how to watch online, player list and more

Jameis Winston, Bobby Petrino and Vic Beasley are among the big names at this year’s ACC Football Kickoff event.

What is it?

The ACC Kickoff is a two-day event in which media members head to Greensboro, N.C., to talk with ACC coaches, players and other associated conference personnel. It’s not quite the four-day SEC extravaganza that just passed, but there are some high-profile names and programs that will be there.

When is it?

Sunday, July 20 through Monday, July 21. It runs from 12:30 p.m. ET to 6 p.m. on Sunday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday.

Can I watch any of it online?

You sure can! TheACC.com has you covered. It’ll have live coverage during the proceedings and archived footage after, so you can even catch up after work if necessary. If you’re on Twitter, follow our Bud Elliott (@TomahawkNation) and Mark Ennis (@MarkEnnis), who are in Greensboro.

What if I’d prefer to read?

Here’s a Twitter list, from Bud Elliott:

What’s the schedule and who is speaking?

All times Eastern.

Sunday, July 20

Monday, July 21

  • 1 p.m. -- Preseason poll and player of the year announced
  • 2 p.m. -- North Carolina head coach Larry Fedora
  • 2:15 p.m. -- Virginia head coach Mike London
  • 2:30 p.m. -- Wake Forest head coach Dave Clawson
  • 2:45 p.m. -- ACC commissioner John Swofford
  • 3:10 p.m. -- Boston College head coach Steve Addazio
  • 3:25 p.m. -- Duke head coach David Cutcliffe
  • 3:40 p.m. -- Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher
  • 3:55 p.m. -- NC State head coach Dave Doeren
  • 4:10 p.m. -- Miami head coach Al Golden
  • 4:25 p.m. -- Pittsburgh head coach Paul Chryst
  • 4:40 p.m. -- Syracuse head coach Scott Shafer
  • 4:55 p.m. -- Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson
  • 5:10 p.m. -- Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino
  • 5:25 p.m. -- Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer
  • 5:40 p.m. -- Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney

Who’s the one coach everyone must listen to?

Bobby Petrino is back at Louisville after a rocky exit, and will surely be asked some pressing questions by the media during his presser. Dabo Swinney’s presser will feature probably the most excited coach at the event, but Jimbo Fisher’s speed-talking might but him in the running. Also keep an ear on the other newcomer (besides Petrino), Wake Forest’s Dave Clawson.

Will any actual news happen?

Yep! Usually roster and injury updates, as well as potential depth chart movement. In addition, the preseason poll is announced Monday, and the preseason All-ACC teams are announced Wednesday.
