Dan Mullen dressed up as Bill Murray’s Caddyshack character

So he’s got that going for him.

If there’s a better offseason tradition than “Coaches in silly costumes,” we don’t know it and we won’t hear of it.

Here’s Dan Mullen, living the dream and dressing up as Bill Murray’s iconic character from Caddyshack, a film released when Mullen was 8 years old.

Spackler spends the entirety of the movie attempting to kill a sly gopher, so we’re going to read this whole costume as a metaphor for LSU, a team that Mullen has nearly beaten a few times but could never quite finish. LSU also happens to be Mississippi State’s first SEC opponent this season.

In the immortal words of Jean Paul Sartre, ‘Au revoir, Tigers.’

Coach Mullen wasn’t the only one who dressed up for the occasion -- the whole staff got involved in the fun.

Mississippi State's players showed their costuming chops earlier this month at their annual midnight lift.
