There are two things coaches on the hot seat probably want to avoid: big losses in rivalry games and calling out the fans. Enter Brady Hoke!
Brady Hoke claims he was misquoted about Michigan fans
The Michigan coach’s week after losing to Notre Dame remains awkward.

After last week’s 31-0 loss to Notre Dame, the Michigan head coach spoke to the media Monday and gave an odd comment about “true” Wolverine fans.
"If they're truly fans, they'll believe in these kids and what they've done and the hard work they've put in," Hoke said. "If they're not, they won't."
Things got a bit more interesting Thursday, when Hoke claimed he was misquoted when discussing the fans. Multiple reporters disagree.
Nope. He said it. RT @nickbaumgardner: Hoke asked about his ‘true fans’ comment: Says his comment was ’misquoted’ … No, it wasn’t.
— Joshua Henschke (@JoshuaHenschke) September 11, 2014 Hoke was also asked about his team’s preparation ahead of the crushing 31-0 defeat, and surely he said something to help instill some confidence in a crumbling program.
Brady Hoke on 97.1 this AM: 'I wouldn't change anything with how we prepared (last week).'
