BYU, Houston wearing patriotic helmets for September 11 game

The two meet Thursday night in Provo.

@znyborg

BYU and Houston will square off the night of September 11, and both schools will be wearing patriotic helmets to honor the occasion.

Houston’s helmet was revealed first, showcasing a stars-and-stripes theme over the basic school logo.

BYU revealed its helmets next. The Cougars have a more flag-themed take on their logo, with a badge on the back including the Twin Towers.

The game, which will take place in Provo, kicks off at 9 pm. ET on ESPN. They're not the only schools wearing patriotic-themed uniforms this weekend, including many similar to what BYU and Houston are wearing. Maryland has "The Star-Spangled Banner" written on the new threads they'll be unveiling against West Virginia.
