Fresh off a narrative-dispelling victory over Michigan State, No. 2 Oregon gets to face a very different kind of power football team: the Wyoming Cowboys.

Can Craig Bohl pull off some old-fashioned magic at his new school?
Oregon trailed Michigan State 27-18 in the third quarter, but scored 28 straight points to run away with the victory. Junior quarterback Marcus Mariota boosted his Heisman stock significantly in the effort, throwing for 318 yards and three touchdowns on just 28 attempts.
Wyoming is 2-0 under new head coach Craig Bohl, with close victories over FCS Montana and conference foe Air Force in the team’s first two games. Bohl came to Wyoming from North Dakota State, where he won three straight FCS national championships.

Three names to know
Royce Freeman, Running Back, Oregon. Quarterback Marcus Mariota and running back Byron Marshall are known quantities for the Ducks, but Freeman has emerged as a serious playmaker as a true freshman. It's no surprise to those who follow recruiting -- Freeman was a unanimous blue-chip prospect who was considered one of the best players in California -- and he's already run for four touchdowns this season.
Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, Cornerback, Oregon. Attention is mostly focused on the Ducks' offense, but they may have the best cornerback in the country. Quarterbacks tend to avoid his side of the field, mostly because he can make plays like this.
Craig Bohl, Head Coach, Wyoming. This is the head coach’s first big game with the Cowboys. His North Dakota State teams certainly didn’t shy away from big opponents, repeatedly taking down FBS teams and winning championships. We’ll have to see how quickly that has been installed in Laramie.
Two things at stake
Oregon’s victory against Michigan State puts the Ducks firmly in the driver’s seat when it comes to their playoff chances. Anything less than a blowout against Wyoming may cast some doubt.
Wyoming has struggled a bit out of the gate under Bohl, but a good performance against the Ducks should cast away any doubts of Bohl’s ability to succeed in FBS.
