Nicholls State is not having a good football season. The Colonels are 0-3 and their coach, Charlie Stubbs, recently resigned due to health concerns. However, the athletic part had a sure-fire idea to replace him:
Ed Orgeron declined offer to become Nicholls State head coach, per report
The former USC and Ole Miss coach is spending the season with his family in Louisiana.

Breaking: Nicholls State approached Ed Orgeron about becoming its head coach on Sunday, but Orgeron declined. http://t.co/ueW8domaw4
— Pete Roussel (@coachingsearch) September 17, 2014 It’s unfortunate we won’t be seeing the coach known for his deep Cajun accent on the FCS sidelines this season, though a Yahoo report from this summer showed that it was probably unlikely to happen — even at a school down the road from his home. Orgeron was USC’s interim head coach last year, but wasn’t given the full-time job after the season, even after turning the Trojans’ season around. Before USC, he was the head coach at Ole Miss, where he struggled despite being known for his recruiting prowess.
