Less than a week after Rutgers apologized for posting pictures of fans making crude Penn State remarks, NJ.com found that Rutgers athletic director Julie Hermann made a crude comment of her own that referenced convicted child rapist and former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky in a staff meeting last fall.
Rutgers AD made Jerry Sandusky joke of her own
The school just apologized for posting an offensive Penn State picture.

Multiple people interviewed by NJ Advance Media -- who would speak only on the condition of anonymity because they feared retribution -- said Hermann was talking about "reaching out and touching the donors" of the program and her punchline was to not do it "in a Sandusky way."
Rutgers acknowledged the comment and defended Hermann’s words, saying it was an off the cuff remark that wasn’t directed at Penn State. Overall, it has been a bad week for Penn State-Rutgers relations.
Bad intent or not — intent doesn’t really matter with this kind of stuff — this is the latest instance in a long line of troubles that Hermann has faced since taking over at Rutgers last year. She was hired in the wake of a coach abuse scandal, but she was alleged to have abused her own players when she was a volleyball coach at Tennessee, was accused of turning a blind eye to abuse on the Rutgers football team and said it would be “great” if the New Jersey Star-Ledger went out of business.
