Georgia, which crucially abandoned its running game late in last week’s loss to South Carolina, gets another chance to run the dang ball this weekend against the visiting Troy Trojans. Kickoff is scheduled for noon at Sanford Stadium, with coverage on SEC Network.

Wanna watch Georgia RUN THE DANG BALL? Here’s how.

The Bulldogs were riding high after a season-opening thumping of Clemson, but were stymied by a late goal line stand by the Gamecocks last weekend and tumbled down the standings. Georgia is led by Todd Gurley, arguably the nation’s most explosive halfback. Gurley already has 329 yards and four touchdowns after just two games, gaining more yard than quarterback Hutson Mason so far.
Troy has struggled through its first three games, losing by a combined 58 points against Duke (understandable), UAB (maybe understandable), and Abilene Christian (not so much). The Trojans have thrown the ball somewhat effectively, with quarterback Brandon Silvers completing 67 percent of his passes. However, Silvers has yet to throw for more than 200 yards in a game, and the running game is non-existent.

The numbers
Rankings and records: Georgia is 1-1 and ranked No. 13 after last week’s loss to South Carolina. Troy is winless at 0-3 and unranked.
Vegas: Georgia opened as a 35-point favorite, and the line has climbed to 41.5. The over/under is set at 64.
Weather forecast: It’s going to be perfect: Sunny, with a kickoff temperature around 75 degrees and a high in the low 80s.
Two things at stake
Georgia has a couple of long-term winning streaks on the line: The Dawgs haven’t lost a home non-conference game since the 2008 Georgia Tech game, and has not dropped a game against a non-Power 5 opponent since losing the season opener to Boise State in 2011.
Troy’s playing for what could only be described as the greatest upset in the history of Troy football.
One big matchup
Mike Bobo vs. the Georgia fanbase: The Dawgs’ longtime offensive coordinator came under fire after throwing the ball near the end zone late against South Carolina. He can get back in their good graces with a healthy dose of Gurley and Nick Chubb on Saturday.
