How to watch Cal vs. Utah on TV or online, plus 3 things to know

The exciting Golden Bears head to Salt Lake City to take on the Utes.

Jennifer Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Pac-12 North divisional race should clear up a little more on Saturday when No. 23 Cal (5-0, 2-0 in conference) head to Rice-Eccles Stadium to take on the fifth-ranked Utah Utes (4-0, 1-0).

The Golden Bears are one of the nation's most exciting offenses, averaging 43 points and some 358 passing yards per game. Quarterback Jared Goff has 15 touchdowns on the year and is completing a whopping 70 percent of his passes. Three different wide receivers have 250 yards or more, and junior Kenny Lawler leads with 27 catches and eight touchdowns.

The Utes are still riding high off of Week 4's 42-point beat down of the Oregon Ducks. Quarterback Travis Wilson had his best game of the season, completing 18 of 30 passes for 227 and four touchdowns. Tailback Devontae Booker ranks fifth in the conference in rushing, with 443 yards. On defense, safety is tied for the conference lead with three interceptions.

How to watch, stream and listen

TV: Sat., 10 p.m. ET, ESPN (starting on ESPNews)

Radio: California, Utah

Online streaming: WatchESPN Link

Spread: Utah is favored by 7 points.

Make friends: Utah fans can chat about the game over at Block U, while Cal fans can over to California Golden Blogs.

Three big things to know

1. Clarity? The advanced stats on these two teams don’t quite line up with the rankings, as Bill Connelly’s S&P+ has Utah 19th and California 48th. Not surprisingly, F+ gives the Utes a 74 percent chance to win this game by a margin of 10.9.

2. Chaos. The Golden Bears score points and they give 'em up. 44 to Texas, and 24 and 28 respectively to Washington and Washington State in the last two weeks. You couple that with Goff, who will be in the running for the Davey O'Brien Award and maybe even the top pick in next spring's NFL Draft AND #Pac12AfterDark and this one could get interesting.

3. Air Up There Salt Lake City is approximately 4,327 feet above sea level. Goff and Wilson have a combined 113 career touchdown passes, and these two secondaries give up a combined 487 passing yards per game. So, if you want to stay up and catch this game on the East Coast, you might want to put a pot of coffee on.
