Watching South Carolina’s home game at LSU today? Here’s how you can help Columbia recover

Well hello, college football Saturday! Nice to see you!

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

Home away from home. South Carolina will be playing in Baton Rouge as the home team against LSU (3:30 p.m. ET, ESPN), due to the disastrous flooding in the Palmetto State. You can learn more about the relief efforts, including how to donate, right here. As for the game, you can check out some previews from the Gamecock and Tiger perspectives.

One cool thing is how welcome LSU’s trying to make South Carolina feel. Until kickoff, at least.

Here’s your full Saturday viewing guide, from TV/streaming info to blogs covering each game to the best game to watch in each time slot.

Friday night featured a pair of games, with Virginia Tech taking down NC State 28-13, behind three touchdown passes from Hokies quarterback Brenden Motley. Not a misprint. A Virginia Tech quarterback. Three touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Marshall took care of Southern Miss, 31-10, a game in which 300-pound defensive tackle Jarquez Samuel dove headlong into the Piesman Trophy race.

Let’s pick some games! MASCOT FIGHTS’ picks are 11-3 on the year, so if you’re of the betting variety, you could probably do worse. Yes, a Maryland Terrapin would crush a Buckeye.

Staying on track. Houston’s Tom Herman is one of the rising stars in the coaching community. Steven Godfrey learns how he’s trying to get through just his first season, in which Herman has to worry about things like the carpet being clean.

Coach looks different. Penn State players got a fun surprise from Key and Peele’s Keegan-Michael Key.

That doesn’t seem like a good idea. A young man at Kyle Field was so drunk he thought he was in Jerry World. Well, at least it was the same state?

It takes hard work. Tennessee takes on Georgia after blowing three straight double-digit leads, and that’s not easy.

Rivalry history. Shakin’ the Southland has a historical perspective on today’s Clemson-Georgia Tech game.

Red River Rivalry. Texas and Oklahoma square off, with the Longhorns just looking for something positive.

Georgia Tech’s fight song is great. Changing one word to make sure it’s inclusive of women would make it even better.

Defending Sark again? Not exactly, but Bill Connelly writes that Steve Sarkisian’s little problems sure seem big at USC.

What’s FBS membership worth? Docs show Eastern Kentucky’s willing to spend $10 million to reach the Sun Belt. And New Mexico State about half that just to stay in it.
