The Michigan Wolverines are already really good again. It’s just true.

Good morning! Here’s your wakeup roundup of everything college football from Saturday.

Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Hello again, Michigan. The Wolverines recorded their third straight shutout Saturday, the first time that’s been done since 1995. They up the Big Ten West’s highest-ranked team, Northwestern, 38-0, and they’re getting the offense to complement their defense. While success was expected for Jim Harbaugh eventually, Michigan’s quick turnaround is still pretty shocking. Part of that is because of the Big Ten’s best defense, but most of this seems to be Harbaugh doing what he does best. That includes screaming while up 31-0, apparently.

Now, the Wolverines get to play Michigan State, with the two programs trending in opposite directions, in the College GameDay spotlight

Nobody better than Leonard. LSU running back and Heisman frontrunner Leonard Fournette became the 10th FBS running back ever to surpass 1,000 yards in five games, and then outdid himself with a touching tribute to South Carolina flood victims, offering to auction his jersey for charity. The NCAA said yes, too!

TCU survives. Two late touchdowns from Trevone Boykin helped the Horned Frogs avoid becoming the latest Bill Snyder victim in Manhattan.

Ohio State took a while to put away a bad team again. This time, it was Maryland, whose players called the Buckeyes “spoiled, entitled and not No. 1.” The Buckeyes won by a lot, naturally, but it was close for uncomfortably long. At least Braxton Miller pulled off an Iverson-like juke!

Texas!!!!! The Longhorns entered the week 1-4 after a 43-point loss to TCU, and then somehow beat Big 12-favorite-of-the-moment Oklahoma for another Red River chaos classic. Charlie Strong crowdsurfed, he was far from the only Longhorn celebrating and we took a guess at Matthew McConaughey’s reaction.

Utah is the last Pac-12 unbeaten. The Utes were picked to finish fifth in the Pac-12 South, and now what? Utah riddled top Cal pro prospect Jared Goff for five INTs, including this diving effort, and held him aloft like a figure skater at one point.

That’s despite Utah having a terrible collection of GameDay signs, including a Marshawn Lynch one that was so bad a Cal fan just held it up as an anti-Utes sign.

Six-and-0les. Florida State beat Miami for the sixth straight time, using the opportunity to make fun of the “Fire Al Golden” banners. Meanwhile, the game had a pregame kicker scuffle, and was probably Golden’s last chance at saving his job, even though the AD implied the coach will finish the year. On the other side, Jimbo Fisher’s a proactive self-improver, this game showed.

Georgia pulled a Tennessee ... against Tennessee! The Volunteers had blown three big leads this season, but came back from a 24-3 deficit to beat the Dawgs in Knoxville.

Tennessee also pulled off possibly the greatest punt you’ll ever see ... and we’re not exaggerating.

Ducks hunted. Oregon fell to 3-3 after a Washington State comeback effort led to a double-overtime Cougars victory, a game to cherish for Wazzu fans. The game also produced this tweet.

At least the uniforms and mascot matched!

Nebraska can’t catch a break. Four losses for the Huskers this year, all in the final minute. Ouch.

It’s firin’ season. Dan McCarney is out at North Texas after the worst FCS vs. FBS beatdown ever against Portland State (a team that already beat Washington State this year).

... and fired-up press conference season. Dabo Swinney took “Clemsoning” to task after another Tigers win, while Mark Richt asked a reporter if he was a Tennessee fan. Meanwhile, Randy Edsall stormed off after a reporter (incorrectly) implied Edsall’s pregame handshake with his players was the coach saying goodbye to his job.

More creative rule interpretations in the Big 12. This forward pass was not flagged in Kansas State vs. TCU. Really!

This week in Rutgers. Let’s play a quick game of choose your own adventure. It’s fourth down, you’re trailing by a score and near midfield. Do you:

A) Attempt a Hail Mary

B) Spike the ball

If you picked B, congrats. You’re Rutgers!

Avert your eyes. Wake Forest and Boston College provided us with the #goacc moment of the year in a 3-0 showdown that repeatedly tried to out-stupid itself. Read our catalog of various massive screw-ups that led to the Demon Deacons’ win.

Rumble big men, rumble. Navy has a 253-pound fullback that ran all over Notre Dame, and a security guard took out a field stormer at Tennessee. On the Piesman list, a Virginia DE scored a touchdown and 400-pound Baylor TE LaQuan McGowan shook a man in the open field.
