Tuesday night’s Sun Belt game between Arkansas State and South Alabama got a bit crazy. In six ridiculous fourth-quarter minutes, the Red Wolves threw a touchdown pass, successfully completed a two-point conversion, intercepted South Alabama quarterback Cody Clements, ran in another touchdown, forced a Clements fumble that they recovered in the end zone for a third touchdown, then picked off Clement again and returned that for a score. At the 13-minute mark, Arkansas State was down 11. By the seven-minute mark, it was up 18. #FunBelt, indeed.
The MAC and Sun Belt got in a Twitter ‘Star Trek’ GIFs battle
America’s favorite two conferences + Star Trek gifs = entertainment!

The scoring barrage was so sudden and varied that it began resembling another weeknight college football delicacy: #MACtion, that intoxicating, absurd, wildly entertaining version of mid-major football. This point was not lost on a few Twittering football watchers, and those few tweets were not missed by the MAC, which cracked back on the Sun Belt with some hardcore nerd tweeting:
.@SunBelt It's great getting #MACtion tweets even during YOUR Tuesday night games. pic.twitter.com/Qx6ZCkQJiO
— #MACtion (@MACSports) October 14, 2015 Never one for backing down from a fight, the Sun Belt had a response:
.@MACSports Did you favorite all 3 of them? pic.twitter.com/Kq0hPXd9yx
— #FunBelt (@SunBelt) October 14, 2015 The Sun Belt made a critical error, though, and the MAC pounced:
.@SunBelt Favorite all three of what? Our three wins vs. you guys earlier this season? pic.twitter.com/WgRZhHJBAD
— #MACtion (@MACSports) October 14, 2015 On a #FunBelt night, #MACtion somehow won again.
