Showdown weekend for the ACC Atlantic Division Saturday in Tallahassee, as Louisville (2-3, 1-0 in conference) tries to even their overall record, and make a play within the division, against the 11th-ranked Florida State Seminoles (5-0, 3-0).
How to watch Louisville vs. Florida State on TV or online, plus 3 things to know
The Noles welcome the Cardinals to Doak Campbell Stadium in a rematch of one of last season’s more entertaining games.
The Cardinals are on the rebound, having won two in a row after an 0-3 start, with dynamic quarterback Lamar Jackson leading the way. The 6-3 freshman, a Florida native, has rushed for 435 yards and five touchdowns on top of his three passing scores. The spread style is a changeup for head coach Bobby Petrino, but it's generating 160 yards per game on the ground, so far, and 491 in the last two wins. The run-heavy attack buttresses well with Louisville's strong defense, which ranks 13 in S&P+.
Of course, FSU has a pretty special running game on its own with emerging Heisman Trophy candidate Dalvin Cook. The sophomore tore through the Miami Hurricanes last week for 222 yards and three total touchdowns (two rushing, 1 receiving), all with a sore hamstring. Cook has been the spark plug for this offense, while Everett Golson continues to be solid, if unspectacular, while avoiding turnovers.

Three big things to know
1. Better than the record
Louisville’s rough start took a lot of shine off the Cards’ apple, but the advanced stats say this game might be more competitive than it seems. The Cardinals rank 18th overall in S&P+, mostly on the strength of that defense, which leads the ACC with nine interceptions. Of course, FSU ranks 12th in defensive S&P+ in their own right.
2. Dalvin Cook
Simply put, he’s one of the most explosive runners in the country.
3. Feels like the first time?
As mentioned, Louisville leads the ACC in picks and has had at least two in three of their five games this season. Golson is yet to turn the ball over through the air this year, but if the UL front seven can contain Cook, it might force Florida State to put Golson on the spot.
