Last time out, TCU was ranked No. 2 and heavy favorites against Kansas State. The Horned Frogs miraculously won that game with a late comeback, and now enter Saturday night’s matchup against Iowa State ranked No. 3.
How to watch TCU vs. Iowa State on TV or online, plus 3 things to know
Could the Horned Frogs drop one at home to the Cyclones? Stranger things have happened!

The Cyclones have been a pesky team for top-ranked Big 12 opponents before, but enter Saturday as significant underdogs after a 2-3 start. Iowa State has been able to score at a pretty high rate, averaging 34.5 points per game through two Big 12 contests, but a suspect defense will be given a tough task against TCU’s explosive attack.
The Horned Frogs have one of the Heisman front-runners at quarterback in Trevone Boykin, and one of the very best receivers in the country in Josh Doctson. TCU is third in the country with 51.0 points per game (behind two other Big 12 teams), but the defense has given up at least 45 points twice in the last three weeks.

Three big things to know
1. Trevone Boykin will be playing football. And frankly, that’s a good enough reason to watch! He’s one of the most exciting players in the country, and saved TCU’s season with a pair of late touchdowns against Kansas State. It’s a pretty safe bet he’ll contribute at least one highlight play, especially if he’s able to connect with Doctson with enough regularity to open up some running lanes.
2. This is the end of TCU’s “easy stretch.” Texas Tech, Minnesota and Kansas State all kept the Horned Frogs within a score, but up next are West Virginia and Oklahoma State. Each has looked at times either “good” or “really good” this season. After that is Kansas (also known as a bye week, sorry Kansas!), but TCU ends the season at Oklahoma and against Baylor. The Horned Frogs can not afford a misstep.
3. Paul Rhoads needs this. Iowa State fans are so fed up with the head coach, they’re now wondering whether beating No. 2 Oklahoma State in 2011 was actually a good thing. Beating another top-3 opponent (and sending a conference rival out of the title picture again) would certainly go a long way towards putting the coach back in the fans’ good graces.
