Alabama’s defense outscored Texas A&M’s offense, but at least the Aggies scored this time!

The Tide beat A&M, 41-23. It sure was an Alabama game.

Here were No. 9 Texas A&M’s scoring plays against No. 10 Alabama on Saturday:

  • 54-yard field goal
  • 52-yard field goal
  • 68-yard punt return
  • Three-yard pass
  • 36-yard field goal

Since one of those was a special teams touchdown, that means the Aggies’ offense put 16 points on the Tide, 16 more than they had during last year’s total debacle. At this rate, they might have more than 16 next year! Things are getting better, for real.

Alabama had 41 points of its own, with its defense delivering 21 of those. Minkah Fitzpatrick ran back two pick-sixes, and Eddie Jackson added the coolest one:

It would be good if there were more things of interest to share about this game, but other than Lane Kiffin refusing to let Nick Saban call a timeout (and then being proved correct), it was only a louder and more exciting version of the Bama game you’ve seen several times per year for most of the last decade. It was really loud, though.
