Florida’s Antonio Callaway makes one-handed tightrope catch

Florida has an expert in one-handed catches now?

Florida was trailing 21-7 and in desperate need of a big play at Tiger Stadium on Saturday night. Treon Harris needed a big play.

So he slung one deep for Antonio Callaway, and the Gators’ fantastic freshman made magic happen.

Callaway has been a spark for Florida’s offense under Jim McElwain, and this catch — which he stopped with one hand, juggled, and brought in while also making sure to tightrope the sideline — is only his latest great one. Callaway made another sensational one-handed catch at Kentucky, and was also on the receiving end of the catch-and-run touchdown that concluded Florida’s comeback against Tennessee. Florida would go on to score one play after Callaway’s big catch, cutting LSU’s lead in half.

The Gators haven’t had as promising a freshman at wideout in quite some while. But they’re going to need more from Callaway tonight, probably — LSU’s already answered with a score of its own.
