You’ve seen Michigan State’s game-winner over Michigan a dozen times by now. You’ve read all this stuff about it. Here’s an angle you probably haven’t seen, though, which shows the unbelievable play and the celebrating Spartans realizing that hero Jalen Watts-Jackson is injured (he had hip surgery on Sunday), all in about one minute.
Here’s a heartbreaking (for everybody) end zone video of the Michigan State-Michigan ending
Good morning. It’s your daily roundup newsletter of college football stuff.

LSU is good again, but the Tigers are also crazy again. That puts them atop Spencer Hall’s Top Whatever rankings.
Stop being dumb. In all the hysterics that followed, some awful people tweeted threats at Michigan’s punter. That led interim athletic director Jim Hackett to send an open letter to fans, condemning the “shocking reality” that people would threaten a Wolverines player. Rodger Sherman would like to remind you that these people are not only awful, but unskilled at watching football.
Rankings! Ohio State is still No. 1 in the AP Poll, but Baylor is gaining on the top spot. And now the stats are starting to like the Buckeyes and the Bears.
I can’t hear you! In happier MSU-UM news, here is Mark Dantonio celebrating with fans at the Big House and asking, “Where did all the Wolverines go!?”
Bowl projections! There’s a shakeup in the New Year’s bowls, with the usual suspects in the College Football Playoff.
FCS GameDay. With a weak slate of games, ESPN’s College GameDay is headed to James Madison this week.
Would you believe two out of three takeaways from Texas A&M’s loss to Alabama are positive? And the third isn’t so bad, either.
Catch up on everything with the Solid Verbal:
Cougs rising. A week after beating Oregon, Washington State blew out Oregon State. Are the Cougars on the up-and-up?
Improbable win. There was another great Big Ten game Saturday. Rutgers came back from 25 down to beat Indiana. Take a look at the stats from the improbable comeback.
Nah nah, what’s my name? Memphis’ Paxton Lynch threw for 384 yards on Ole Miss. Hugh Freeze didn’t remember his name.
What does Vegas know? USC is 3-3, while Utah is third in the country in the AP poll. But the Trojans are 3-point favorites over the Utes. All the rest of next week’s opening lines here.
Buying Barrett. J.T. Barrett came in for Ohio State and ran all over Penn State. Land-Grant Holy Land likes what they’re seeing.
Long game. Way back in February, a Wake Forest assistant coach took a shot at North Carolina’s academics. Eight months later, after beating the Demon Deacons, a Tar Heels receiver got his revenge.
Bo not Faux. Could former Nebraska coach Bo Pelini be a good fit for the Maryland job? Testudo Times makes the case.
Not a fair fight. Baylor put up 62 points on West Virginia. Is there any way the Mountaineers could have stopped the Bears? Maybe if WVU could play 14 players, its defensive coordinator says.
Back to college. According to the NFL Network, both Chip Kelly and Sean Payton (???) could be interested in the USC job.
Almost! Michigan State beat Michigan, but a reporter who didn’t see the final play went through his entire segment telling viewers in Grand Rapids that the Wolverines had actually won.
