Week 7 was madness. Michigan and Michigan State had one of the wildest endings in history, LSU emerged as the final undefeated SEC team and Memphis knocked off Ole Miss in a major statement win for the AAC’s Playoff resume.
Exactly which Week 8 college football games to watch, with full TV/streaming schedule
Just keep this tab open until early Sunday morning.
There are 14 teams still undefeated, 10 from power conferences. That’s two in the ACC (Florida State, Clemson), three in the Big 12 (TCU, Baylor, Oklahoma State), three in the Big Ten (Michigan State, Ohio State, Iowa), one in the Pac-12 (Utah) and one in the SEC. Three in the AAC are still undefeated (Temple, Houston, Memphis), as is one in the MAC (Toledo). While none are in a huge matchup this week, eight are on the road and odds are good somebody will go down.
I’m not going to lie to you, Week 8 does not look like the weekend of the year. There’s only one matchup between ranked teams, and neither are in the top 10. College GameDay’s at FCS James Madison, which is great. On paper, the schedule pales in comparison to last week.
But two weeks ago looked like crap on paper too, and it was fan-freaking-tastic. This is when college football is at its most fun. Buckle up.

Early shift
Best option: No. 6 Clemson at Miami, ABC
Spread: Clemson -7
The Tigers are undefeated, and are currently the best team in the country by S&P+. Al Golden reaaaallllly needs to salvage some good will.
Plan B: Auburn at Arkansas, SEC Network
The weekly “ha ha, we thought these teams might actually go to the Playoff” game!
Middle shift
Best option: Texas Tech at No. 17 Oklahoma, ABC/ESPN2
Spread: Oklahoma -14
Texas Tech can put up points and threatened TCU until the final play.
Plan B: Penn State at Maryland, ESPN
Last year, Maryland didn’t shake hands with Penn State and beat the Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium. This year, it’s in Baltimore, Maryland has an interim coach and face it, nothing else is on.
Late shift
Best option: No. 15 Texas A&M at No. 24 Ole Miss, ESPN2
Spread: Ole Miss -6
Look, both have lost a little luster, but it’s the only matchup between ranked teams of the weekend. Savor it.
Plan B: No. 9 Florida State at Georgia Tech, ESPN
Florida State’s looking even better than last year, and has the most explosive running back in the country.
BONUS ROUND: Super late shift
Best option: Washington at No. 10 Stanford, ESPN
Spread: Not yet posted
Stanford is looking like one of the very best teams in the country right now, but every Washington conference game so far has been decided by one score.
Plan B: Colorado at Oregon State, Pac-12 Network
Where else can either of these teams find a Pac-12 win?
