Following a record-shattering 58-point defeat against Clemson Saturday, Miami athletic director Blake James told the Sun-Sentinel’s Dave Hyde that he will not fire head coach Al Golden.

— Dave Hyde (@davehydesports) October 24, 2015 The statement reinforces James’ previous statements indicating he would reevaluate Golden at the end of the season. Hyde, who tweeted out the quote, had written at halftime of Saturday’s debacle that Golden should be fired.
Miami's 58-0 home defeat to the Tigers was depressing in nearly every way, featuring sad children, Dabo Swinney lectures, crying Michael Jordan masks and fan fights. By halftime, Clemson was up by 42 points and the stadium had largely emptied.
Golden’s ‘Canes are now 4-3 on the season, 1-2 in the ACC, and facing a difficult trip to former doormat Duke next week. Despite that, and November road trips to North Carolina and Pitt on the horizon, Miami is apparently going to play out the string with Golden.
