Ohio State moving Braxton Miller to wide receiver hasn't totally clarified the Buckeyes' quarterback situation, with Cardale Jones only just now ceding the starting spot to J.T. Barrett. But it was also supposed to get one of the nation's truly dynamic playmakers on the field as often as possible, and Miller keeps paying back his coaches for that stratagem with fantastic plays and difficult catches like this one from Saturday night against Rutgers.
This football touched like 37 body parts before Braxton Miller caught it while falling
This wide receiver thing might work out for him.
Miller does drop the ball at first, but he shows incredible concentration to track it as it caroms off both his knee and that of Rutgers defensive back Talib Abdur-Ra’oof, and somehow manages to keep the ball from touching the ground while falling backwards and all but being tackled.
Miller’s shaky arm, and his recovery from the injury that led to Barrett becoming Ohio State’s starting QB in the first place, was supposed to make his shot at being drafted by the NFL shaky. Plays like this will force GMs to take a closer look at Miller the wideout.
