Immediately following Florida State’s improbable loss to Georgia Tech on a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown Saturday night, the Seminoles’ official football Twitter account went silent:
Florida State’s Twitter was not kidding about going dark after Georgia Tech’s miracle win
Not even the Noles are #TALKINBOUTTHENOLES right now.

*Turns phone off.*
— FSU Football (@FSU_Football) October 25, 2015 Everyone had a good laugh. After all, it was just last week that Michigan had to come up with its own stilted Twitter reaction to a special teams-related last-second defeat. At least Florida State’s response had some good humor behind it.
You have to hand it to @FSU_Football, because it’s ten hours later, and there still hasn’t been a word tweeted from that account. The “#BEATGT” banner is still in place. The last tweet from the account has been retweeted over 11,000 times and drawn nearly as many gif-related responses. And yet it’s been nothing but silence from Florida State Football.
In comparison, the @FSU_Football account tweeted 55 times in the 10 hours before it signed off. There were nine tweets in the two hours following the Seminoles’ win last week over Louisville.
Florida State had not lost a game to an ACC opponent in more than 1,100 days before Saturday’s defeat. If the Seminoles take one minute off Twitter for each of those days, they will return to tweeting at 2:43 Sunday afternoon. We’ll be waiting.
