West Virginia vs. TCU 2015 odds: Horned Frogs Thursday betting favorite

The TCU Horned Frogs continue their push towards a playoff spot hosting the West Virginia Mountaineers on Thursday night as two-touchdown favorites.

Reese Strickland-USA TODAY Sports

The TCU Horned Frogs are 10-0 straight up and 9-1 against the spread in their last 10 games at home. The Horned Frogs will try to keep their undefeated season alive this Thursday night hosting the West Virginia Mountaineers.

TCU is a 14-point favorite at home, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The last loss that the Horned Frogs suffered as a home favorite came against West Virginia as a 12-point favorite in 2013.

With a defense weakened by injuries, the usually stingy Horned Frogs are relying on their high-powered offense for wins now more than ever. TCU has the second-highest scoring offense in the country, averaging 50.1 points per game, and quarterback Trevone Boykin has proven to be clutch with big plays in close games.

The Horned Frogs are 14-6 ATS over their last 20 games despite a 3-4 ATS record so far this season.

Since losing to Baylor in October last season, TCU is 11-0 SU and 7-4 ATS in its last 11 games against Big 12 opponents per the OddsShark College Football Database.

Mountaineers vs. Horned Frogs OddsShark Matchup Report

West Virginia got off to a strong start to the 2015 season, going 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS against out of conference opponents, outscoring those three teams 130-23 in the process. But through three games in Big 12 play, the Mountaineers are 0-3 SU and ATS, allowing 46.3 points per game over that stretch. West Virginia is just 2-5 SU and 1-6 ATS in its last seven games on the road in the month of October.

Thursday night’s total is set at 75 points. The UNDER is 12-3 in West Virginia’s last 15 games.

Each of the last three games in this head-to-head series have been extremely close, with TCU winning by one point in both of its trips to West Virginia and West Virginia winning by a field goal in its last trip to TCU. Considering the fact that the Mountaineers and Horned Frogs always seem to play intense games, and TCU has struggled on defense this season, West Virginia should be a live dog going off at +14 on the road this Thursday night.
