NC State assistant coach smacks Clemson’s QB on shoulder while on sideline
You should not do this, adult human.
1. No, this is not actually a “jab,” despite what the first observer in question — who works for a site covering Clemson — seems to think. A jab is a punch. That is not.
2. Still, that’s quite clearly a coach smacking a player on the sideline, and it doesn’t really look like it’s in a congratulatory manner. And even a friendly shove probably wouldn’t have been the best idea for the NC State Wolfpack coach.
Maybe just don’t touch opposing players on your sideline? Maybe?
Update: The assistant in question, running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Des Kitchings, later apologized, per NC State head coach Dave Doeren.
Doeren said his assistant coach apologized to Watson/Clemson after "getting emotional". Brought it up unsolicited. So there you go. Fin
