Tulane’s long snapper is still missing his punter, but at least he’s getting closer

This is bad and you should feel bad, Green Wave.

In September, Tulane executed a “snap” on a punt that was really more like a roll. It was bad enough for us to say it might be the worst punt snap ever.

Nearly two months later ... well, at least the Green Wave technically got better at it?

Sort of?

Not all of the 42 yards Tulane lost on this play were directly related to the high snap?

Even if this snap turned into a safety, at least it went somewhere?

Anyway, you wanna know the the really bad news? This snap may turn out to be more consequential than that other awful one, which came in a 37-7 loss to Duke, and this safety may be worse than the one Tulane gave up on a safety on a bad snap against Georgia Tech. Tulane currently trails Memphis 15-13 at halftime, or by the exact number of points Memphis got on the safety that followed this snap.

(Before you ask: Tulane is No. 125 nationally on fourth down this year, having succeeded twice in 10 tries. So, no, giving up on punting entirely would probably not be a better idea.)
