The Texas Longhorns are just 1-6 straight up and against the spread in their last seven games overall. The Longhorns face another tough opponent this Saturday going up against the rival Oklahoma Sooners at the Cotton Bowl.
Oklahoma vs. Texas 2015 odds: Sooners Red River Showdown betting favorites
The favored Oklahoma Sooners and the underdog Texas Longhorns meet at the Cotton Bowl for this year’s Red River Showdown.

Texas is a 17-point betting underdog in the Red River Showdown, according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. This is nearly identical to last year’s line which had Oklahoma as a 16.5-point favorite. The Sooners won that game 31-26 and failed to cover the spread.
Part of Texas’s disappointing 1-4 SU and ATS start can be attributed to the quality of opponents the Longhorns have faced. Cal, Oklahoma State and TCU are all undefeated, and Notre Dame just suffered its first loss last week.
But with that said, a team like Texas is supposed to be able to hang with anyone; and there isn’t much of an excuse for scores like 38-3 against Notre Dame and 50-7 vs. TCU.
The schedule doesn’t lighten up this week facing the undefeated Sooners. Texas is 1-7 SU and 2-6 ATS in its last eight games as a double-digit underdog per the OddsShark College Football Database.
Oklahoma Sooners vs. Texas Longhorns
When: Saturday, Oct. 10, noon ET
Where: Cotton Bowl, Dallas, Texas
Betting Line / Total: Oklahoma -17 / 61.5 Points
The Oklahoma Sooners are off to a strong 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS start including impressive wins in come-from-behind fashion against Tennessee and in a blowout win last week over West Virginia.
Junior quarterback Baker Mayfield has looked like a star this season with 1,382 passing yards and 13 passing touchdowns along with 138 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns in just four games. Oklahoma ends its regular season with games against Baylor, TCU and Oklahoma State and will try to avoid any slip-ups along the way.
Saturday’s total is currently going off at 61.5 points. The OVER is 8-2 in Oklahoma’s last 10 conference games and 6-0 in Oklahoma’s last six games in October.
Texas beat Oklahoma outright as a 13.5-point underdog in 2013 and kept the game close as a 16.5-point underdog last year. Oklahoma’s defense is allowing 22.3 points per game this season, so Texas should be able to muster up enough on offense to cover the spread and make for another entertaining game between these two hated rivals.
