LSU’s making Baton Rouge feel like a South Carolina home game, from flags to fight songs

Due to flooding in South Carolina, this game was moved from Columbia to Death Valley, but LSU’s doing a good job of pretending to be the road team.

By now, you’re probably aware that the LSU vs. South Carolina game this Saturday has been moved from Columbia to Baton Rouge due to the flooding in South Carolina. It’s a tough situation for everyone involved, but not nearly as tough as people dealing with the flooding in their homes and neighborhoods.

Sometimes things can get pretty bristly in the SEC, but in recognition of the circumstances, both sides seem to be going out of their way to be nice and have some fun with this.

Head Ball Coach has had jokes for decades, so that’s not surprising. But it doesn’t stop there.

The LSU band will also be learning South Carolina's alma mater. Whether they play it very often or not is beyond the point. As noted in the Q&A between our South Carolina and LSU blogs, this year is the 10-year anniversary of LSU playing a "home" game in Arizona due to Hurricane Katrina, so if anyone knows how strange this situation can be, it's LSU.

And due to SEC rules, LSU can only dress 70 players (instead of the usual 80), since it has to pretend it’s the road team.
