Michigan executed a really good game-tying drive against Indiana -- setting aside those three goal-to-go runs, anyway -- and closed to within a point after on Jake Rudock's fourth touchdown pass to Jehu Chesson on the day.
Michigan’s game-tying extra point was almost a disaster twice
This was very nearly a huge error.
But the actual game-tying point almost didn’t happen.
That Kenny Allen boot, precariously close to the left upright, also came on an excellent hold from Blake O'Neill, who scuttled a field goal earlier in the game with a muffed snap.
Redemption came for O’Neill in the form of his quick work to get the extra point set. And while it won’t be remembered as well as the Wolverines prevailing in double overtime, it was a crucial part of getting them there.
